Largest Colorado quake since 1973 shakes homes - The Pueblo Chieftain: News Web Site

My sister-in-law sent an email today asking how we were out here in Pitstop after the earthquake. Silly, I said, that was D.C. and Virginia. Yes I know, she replies, I meant the one out there yesterday.

Oh.


The magnitude 5.3 quake, which was was felt in Pueblo by some residents just before midnight. hit at 11:46 p.m. MDT Monday about nine miles southwest of Trinidad, or 180 miles south of Denver, according to the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center in Golden. It had an estimated depth of 2.5 miles and was felt in a relatively large area of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
